Updates from the States - Team Crowd US

Jamie Sergeant

Global CEO

Things continue to hum along for our efforts in the United States and Canada, as we have started to reap the benefits of expanding our team and increasing our efforts in the region. With some new awards in the bag, as well as some great new clients, we are extremely excited as we close out 2017 and look ahead to 2018.

New Clients

Two of our most recent wins come in the destination marketing sector, as we are fortunate to now be working with California’s North Coast Tourism Council (NCTC), as well as Central City, Colorado.

The NCTC is one of 12 tourism regions designated by Visit California. It is comprised of four of the most beautiful counties in the state, located in the northwest region, including Mendocino, Humboldt, Del Norte and our existing client, Lake County. Crowd is currently managing all social media for the NCTC, general marketing strategy, and maintenance and improvement of their existing website.

The region is known for its stunning coastlines, majestic mountains and towering redwood trees, as well as being home to the world-famous Redwood National Park.

We are also excited to embark upon a rebranding effort with Central City, Colorado, which sits high in the Rocky Mountains, about an hour west of Denver. Crowd will be working with city officials and community stakeholders to bring forth a message that showcases a more diverse set of attributes that make this mountain hamlet an ideal getaway for regional, national and international travellers.

Tech has also come to the table in the form of GroupClique, a new Detroit-based social media platform that is specifically designed for schools, churches and other private organizations. Crowd has taken on full marketing duties that include social media, video production, email marketing, content marketing and more.

Awards

We’re humbled by the recognition that our team continues to receive from various awarding bodies around the globe. The Davey Awards and the American Graphic Design Awards are the latest to bestow honours upon us.

The American Graphic Design Awards are presented by Graphic Design USA Magazine, one of the most prominent design publications in America. Over 10,000 submissions came in this year, with fewer than 10% being recognized for excellence in design. We were fortunate to win in two categories:

  • Best Branding and Identity Programs, where we were recognized for our efforts with the Plastic Oceans Foundation, where we did double duty in rebranding their organization and also handling all digital marketing for their award-winning documentary film, A Plastic Ocean.
  • Best Online Design, Website, which we won for our very own Crowd website.

We also took home a Gold Award at the 13th annual Davey Awards, which honour the best creative work from small agencies worldwide. This time it was our Sundance By the Numbers infographic that took home the top prize for content marketing. The publication of this annual project has become highly anticipated by the independent filmmakers, as it provides invaluable data for measuring the current state of the indie film industry. Its release coincides with the world-famous Sundance Film Festival, and we are already working with Entertainment Media Partners to bring its next incarnation to life.
