Crowd is happy to announce that our UK office is now a Research and Development (R&D) Innovation Hub. This significant step forward marks the beginning of an exciting journey in technology and innovation, enabling us to develop new products and further improve our services.

To help  achieve this, we have been awarded funding by Innovate UK to help  to further advance our R&D into Artificial Intelligence, a key component of this initiative. We have partnered up with Bournemouth University (BU), whose Computer Science team will be collaborating on this insightful initiative, as part of a Knowledge Transfer Partnership (KTP).

BU has a track record of working alongside innovative businesses on projects so we are delighted  to be working with such a prestigious institution for a project like this. KTPs are the UK government’s longest running and most successful innovation programme. With less than a thousand UK companies currently involved in the scheme across the UK, Crowd is really proud that we have been selected to join this select group of organisations at such an exciting time for the business.

Moreover, establishing an in-house Innovation Hub will not only have a positive impact on our creative agency but will enable the UK team to innovate and help export British technologies via our various international offices, making Crowd a vital part in the future of British innovation through our partnership with academia.

This project emerged from a deep analysis and understanding of the current digital landscape and addressing its needs. After considering our clients’ needs and observing how rapidly the market is changing, we recognized the importance of our contribution to the future. So, with a clear vision in mind and a strong sense of purpose, we implemented the necessary steps to bring this idea to life, and we can’t be happier with the progress we’ve made.

Prof. Marcin Budka, Professor in Data Science at Bournemouth University and academic lead for the project said: “We are really pleased to be working with the team at Crowd to develop what could be a transformative step-change, for them as a business but also for the industry as a whole. We have a track-record of working alongside innovative and ambitious businesses so we are naturally really excited by this project.”

Next steps? This summer, we will provide workshops to our clients, fostering conversations and collaborating together to discover how we can combine creativity with innovation to increase growth.
