Crowd continues our work with sustainable packaging manufacturers Footprint with a new campaign. Pledge2050 aims to raise awareness of the fact that if we want to save the future, we need to stop using plastic today; by 2050 we will have reached a point of no return.
There will be more plastic in the oceans than fish, and microplastics will be in the air we breathe, the food we eat, and the water we drink. This will create havoc with both the health of our planet, and the people living upon it.
Pledge2050 was set up by The Footprint Foundation - the not-for-profit side of Footprint - the plant-based US packaging manufacturer.
Backed by ambassadors such as Christine Figgener who filmed the heartbreaking video of the turtle having a plastic straw removed from its nose, and some other special guests to be announced soon, the campaign is rapidly spreading its message, and seeing more and more people make a pledge to quit plastic on the Pledge2050.org website.
The website allows you to quit plastic in 4 different ways:
- stop using plastic water bottles,
- stop using plastic straws,
- stop using plastic bags and
- stop using plastic utensils.
By making an online pledge, the website automatically shows the amount of plastic you’ll be saving tomorrow, by quitting today.
We have created a series of social posts for influencers to share with their fans and followers to encourage them to take the pledge.
You can also take the pledge now yourself, and help save the future today.
Crowd is committed to a sustainable future and way of working and we are pursuing B Corp status which reflects our own commitment to the future of our planet and its people.
Working together with multiple agencies we aim to create as much support for the campaign during Plastic Free July. Please do take the pledge.
