Crowd's Social Media Highlights of 2017

6 Nov 2017

Emma Glazier

Managing Director (UK)

Not only have we seen the social team expand in 2017, we have also seen some great campaigns come to life and some exceptional uses of different media to create unique and successful campaigns, globally. Here are some of our social media highlights of 2017.

Invisible Rider Video

This year we took our social media videos to the next level, incorporating a number of different techniques and styles. Our stand out piece was the Invisible Rider video which was used to promote the Hovertrax 2.0 for our client - Razor. Razor is a US-based toy company that provides a range of ride on products for all ages.

This video grabbed the attention of the audience instantly due to it’s unique concept, generating thousands of views over a number of different platforms.

No.34 Restaurant Launch

No.34 is a gourmet restaurant in Bournemouth, we helped No.34 to get in front of the public eye in a very saturated market on the South Coast. We ran 3 launch events prior to the opening of the restaurant. We populated these invite-only events with an array of local influencers, business owners, and competition winners. We encouraged people to check in to the restaurant and give it a review following their meal to generate buzz for the restaurant. Crowd also managed their social offering before and during the grand opening events, further increasing awareness for the restaurant within the local community.

No.34 noticed a big boost in following for the restaurant on all social channels after the launch events. No.34 reached over 30,000 people on  Facebook, over 2000 engagements on Instagram and 37 mentions on Twitter. The brand awareness that’s been generated via these social channels has led to valuable exposure for the restaurant.

Power Core E100 ‘Pause the Video’ Campaign

Another campaign for Razor promoted the Power Core E100 in Germany. We created a short social media game encouraging users to engage and play on Facebook. The campaign concept was that users had to pause the video when the product is complete and post a screenshot when they had done it. The copy of the post included a link to the product page, in a ‘find out more’ context.

This campaign generated an extremely high volume of rich engagement in the form of reactions, comments, shares, page likes and link clicks. Not only did the campaign drive engagement, but most importantly generated more sales of the product in January 2017 in Germany than the whole of 2016. You can find a link to that video here.

#5YearsOfCrowd - Instagram Campaign

This year Crowd turned five and what better way to celebrate than to run a global social media campaign?  This campaign included staff from all offices, celebrating with a quirky Instagram feed. The campaign promoted the birthday with party style staff portraits and interesting facts that have been collected over the past five years, for example: did you know that our teams have consumed a whopping 56,387 cups of coffee collectively? That’s approximately over 19 million ml’s of the stuff!
