Crowd’s global offering 2018

Jamie Sergeant

Global CEO

As it’s the new year, we’re reflecting on what 2018 holds for Crowd and how far we’ve come in the five years since we started.

From humble beginnings in our first home at the Arts University in Bournemouth and a staff of three we’ve been on a journey of expansion fuelled by tireless hard work and the success that has brought. With an initial staff of three based in Bournemouth, we now employ 34 people around the world working from 7 offices in 5 countries.

The Secret of Our Success

Having founded and run a successful agency in the past, our MD and driving force Jamie Sergeant knew what worked and what didn’t. So when it came time to begin again after selling his stake he was able to learn from the past and build the agency on foundations of creativity and quality.

“I have purposefully set a limit on the number of staff in each office. What I’ve found is that when an agency gets too big in one office, it stifles creativity and creates divisions between departments. With a small multi-disciplinary team working around the same table, collaboration and team-spirit is maintained to the benefit of both staff and our clients.”

From day one our work spoke for itself. It was creative, well built and exceeded the expectations of our clients. Happy clients will tell their friends and through this ‘word-of-mouth’, Crowd have built up a strong client portfolio. Exporting our unique brand of British creativity sets us apart in other markets contributing to our success.

We have also maintained strong relationships with the universities in Bournemouth both offering students internships and careers advice through regular tutoring and speaking events which has now extended to promoting Bournemouth as a digital business hub in China.

Bright Lights Big City

With global expansion always on the horizon, Crowd opened offices in San Francisco and Dubai where we began working with long-term clients based in Napa Valley and some recognisable brands in Dubai notably Dubai Airports, Aramex and Emaar.

Recruiting a dedicated and enthusiastic team of global citizens, Jamie has built up our international offering to now encompass 4 continents with our latest push into China already proving successful with a campaign for the Sichuan Tourist Board.

“We’ve steadily built our reputation in the UK and around the world,” says Jamie, “we had a great year for awards last year winning two Grand Prix awards from the Recommended Agency Register as well as many others for our work. Awards voted on by customers and industry peers are always appreciated.”

Back to the Future

So as we look to 2018, Crowd look to consolidate in our territories and continue to produce work that not only speaks for itself, but exceeds our clients expectations. Transforming their digital marketing projects into sector leading examples of what can be achieved in today’s marketing landscape.

“I’ve always seen Crowd as a agency that uses creativity to solve problems whether that’s attracting visitors to a destination or communicating in a meaningful way with our clients customers. 2018 has got off to a flyer and we’ve got some great work going through our offices around the world.” says Jamie.

“Having built a strong team in our global offices, and worked hard on our offering, we can provide the same great service and ideas that made us a success in our first year on an even bigger stage.”
