Crowd attended the Web Summit 2019 event in Lisbon, Portugal this month. Attending again with our clients the Dubai Government as part of the Dubai Advantage campaign, we took the opportunity to soak up the atmosphere and inspiration provided by an impressive line-up of speakers.
As well as again designing and fitting out the stand with our partners Prodigio, this year we produced an exciting VR experience for stand visitors. The short presentation helped immerse the visitor in the key messages of the Dubai Advantage campaign, starting with a 360 degree skydive over the iconic Dubai skyline.
Animated graphics and routes based on the three elements of The City, The Gateway and The Hub gave the guests the opportunity to explore the virtual environment and uncover facts about the benefits of doing business in Dubai. The VR tour proved very popular with stand guests as the gamification aspect encouraged them to try different routes to uncover all three areas.
Crowd were also engaged to create a video for Dubai FDI to be used on social media as well as to provide a record of the event. So our in-house videographer Erik created the above social friendly video to capture some of the atmosphere of the exhibition floor.
In addition, we provided a content pack of assets for use on social media as well as takeout materials and we even hired and dressed the stand staff! But it wasn’t all work as CEO Jamie and Dubai studio head Tom Berne, were able to attend some key talks. Among the hot topics the combination of artificial intelligence and 5G proved a common theme. Speakers explored the relationship between these technologies and how voice can be used to interact with this new technology.
Data management was also discussed by Edward Snowden who’s illuminating talk posed the question as to whether we should even be collecting data at all. The Web Summit is a great opportunity to take the pulse of the world wide web and learn about the issues that we’ll be facing online over the coming months and years.
Our team came away suitably inspired and our friends at the Dubai FDI had a successful time in engaging new entrepreneurs looking for a dynamic place to establish their business.
