Crowd were on-board as part of Mayor of London’s International Business Programme

19-24 May marked China’s Creative Tech Trade Mission, which was part of the Mayor of London’s International Business Programme. Jamie Sergeant, CEO at independent global creative agency, Crowd, was one of the fourteen British representatives who attended the London & Partners event as part of Mayor of London’s creative envoy.

The international event has seen several UK and Chinese businesses attending from within the creative, tech and digital industries. The UK representatives went to three of the leading cities for the creative industry, starting with Hong Kong, then Shenzhen and finishing with Shanghai. As a great opportunity to network, the UK representatives showed and pitched their work to Chinese companies. Crowd has been developing relationships within the Chinese market since opening its first office in Shenzhen in 2017.

London & Partners is a not-for-profit public-private partnership, funded by the Mayor of London, European and national funds, their partner network and other commercial ventures. They exist to support the mayor’s priorities by promoting London internationally as a leading world city in which to invest, work, study and visit. Their mission focuses on:

  • Building London's international reputation.
  • Attracting international audiences and convincing them to choose London.
  • Guiding international audiences to make the most of all that London has to offer.
  • Helping to retain and grow London’s businesses.

Laura Citron, Chief Executive of London & Partners says: “Our purpose is to support the Mayor’s priorities by promoting London internationally, as the best city in the world in which to invest, work, study and visit”.

London and Partners’ key international markets are the US, China, France, Germany and India. From 2011 to 2018, their work has helped the London economy by adding £1.5bn; by supporting and creating over 48,000 jobs and by helping almost 2,000 companies to set up or expand in London.

Jamie Sergeant says: “We are honoured to be part of London & Partners and we are grateful that such an initiative exists to support creative excellence and exporting, and to open doors to companies that are looking for an overseas creative or marketing partner”.

We would like to thank Amrit Kang and Katrina Patel, along with the Deputy Mayor for London Business, Rajesh Agrawal, who were the team on the ground, ensuring that the event ran smoothly.
